GOALS 
The College of Science aims to cultivate professionals with strong research and practical skills for technology industries and science education. We are committed to developing a distinctive academic environment that excels in both research capabilities and teaching effectiveness. Our goals are to foster individuals with the potential for innovative research and development and creative thinking in technology industries, as well as to prepare professionals with specialized knowledge and a passionate approach to science education and sports science.

 

Research and Development Potential

The College of Science excels in research, innovation, and development. For instance, the Department of Applied Physics is equipped with expertise in measuring material optoelectronic properties, optical component characteristics, qualitative and quantitative analysis of materials and mineral samples, as well as industrial R&D know-how. The Department of Applied Chemistry boasts advanced techniques in gene recombination, microbial fermentation engineering, protein purification, and biological enzyme activity identification. These capabilities support the development of novel, high-value scientific products, improvement of existing production technologies, and enhancement of industrial R&D capacity and employee expertise.

Additionally, the Department of Science Communication and the Department of Sports Science collaborate with relevant institutions to develop new products and educational programs, thereby cultivating professionals in science communication and sports science.

The College of Science is dedicated to cultivating professionals who possess both strong research capabilities and practical applications in high-tech industries, science education, and sports science. Our development direction focuses on connecting technical research and innovation with high-tech industry needs, aligning with the expertise required for R&D and technological advancement. We aim to form alliances with industry partners to advance research and promotional programs in mathematical and scientific education, as well as sports science, thereby fostering the next generation of experts in these fields.

 

RESEARCH 
The research or teaching-oriented departments of the college of science have outstanding research performance. The current research-oriented departments are enthusiastic about having links with industries apply technology and conducting innovative basic research and development. The research focuses include the measurements of optical-electronics properties of materials and optical devices, qualitative and quantitative analysis of materials and rock samples, thin film technology, DNA recombination technology, microbial fermentation engineering, protein purification, identification of biological enzyme activity, computational mathematics, and statistics . In addition, this college assists companies in developing novel products with high economic value, improving existing products, constructing production technology, enhancing industrial R & D capacity, and training professional technical staffs.
